Vertical CNC machining center SIGMA Mission series

The SIGMA Mission series comprises three vertical CNC machining center models —SMV-1050, SMV-1350, and SMV-1650— designed for high-speed, high-precision machining of medium to large-format workpieces. The range covers applications in automotive, aerospace, mold and die, electronics, and medical equipment manufacturing, with X-axis travel reaching up to 1,650 mm.

The machine structure features a one-piece column with internal cross-rib reinforcement for maximum torsional rigidity. A counterweight-free design avoids chain-induced vibration on the Z-axis. Roller-type linear guides on all three axes, with 6 sliding blocks on the worktable guideway, ensure stability at high traverse speeds. Pre-tensioned ballscrews on all three axes are driven directly by servo motors with zero backlash.

The direct-drive spindle (DDS) operates at 15,000 rpm with a Ø70 mm bearing diameter and No. 40 (7/24) taper, eliminating the backlash and vibration inherent to belt or gear transmission. A standard spindle oil cooler reduces thermal expansion and maintains repetitive positioning accuracy over extended production cycles.

Linear travels range from 1,050 to 1,650 mm on X, 560 to 800 mm on Y, and 635 to 800 mm on Z. Working tables range from 1,150×560 to 1,700×800 mm, supporting maximum loads of up to 1,500 kg. Rapid traverse reaches 48 m/min on X and Y on the smaller models. The cam-type ATC holds 30 to 40 tools with a tool-to-tool change time of 1.7 s and P-40T (45°) pull studs. The series supports FANUC CNC (15/25 kW) and HEIDENHAIN (10/17 kW). Available options include 3-axis linear scales, 4th-axis or rotary table preparation, and an integrated smart manufacturing module for production monitoring and shop-floor management.

The Mission series is suited to workshops and machining departments requiring a large-X-travel vertical machining center with high spindle speed and reliability for continuous production of medium to large parts in aluminum, steel, and mold materials.
