New EQUIPTOP ECG Series cylindrical grinder

The ECG series from EQUIPTOP encompasses CNC cylindrical grinding machines designed for the external and internal grinding of revolution parts with high dimensional demanding requirements. The range covers seven models —of the ECG-2740 CNC al ECG-35100 CNC— articulated in two families: the 27 series, with maximum grinding diameter of Ø270 mm, and the 35 series, with Ø350 mm. The center distance goes from 400 to 1,000 mm according to model, which allows working from short pieces to shafts of considerable length.

The X and Z axes are driven by NC servo motors with precision ball screw. minimum adjustment unit is 0.001 mm, with maximum travel of the grinding head 250 mm and rapid feed speed of 6 m/min. The tooth spins at 1.650 rpm (1.890 optional), with peripheral speed of 35 m/s (45 m/s optional); the spindle motor is 5 CV, expandable to 7,5 CVThe grinding head spindle is made of SNCM220 alloy steel with multiple heat treatments and mounted on hydro-dynamic bearings to ensure rigidity and resistance to vibration.

The CNC control of the 27/35 series incorporates a graphical interface with operation modes OD, ID, front face and profileThe operator can enter the step-by-step grinding cycles without the need to program in G-CODE or M-CODE. The cycles are divided into roughing, semi-finishing, finishing and final spark, with up to five diamond grinding configurations and five wheel profiles selectable graphically.

The work head mounts high-precision bearings with enhanced moisture protection; the the working spindle speed varies from 10 to 600 rpm with cone MT4The counterpoint is offered in manual or hydraulic version with oil bath lubrication. The table allows a tilt angle of up to ±11° according to the model. Among the available options are headstock of interior grindingmeasurement probe, automatic wheel balancer, hydraulic counterpoint and magnetic separator.
