Vertical 4/5-Axis Machining Center FEELER Series VUX

The VUX series of FEELER is a range of 4/5 axis vertical machining centers —VUX-300, VUX-400 and VUX-500— designed for the machining of parts with complex geometry, including undercuts and hard-to-reach areas, in a single clamping. The three models share a rotary table architecture A/C sliding-type, with A-axis tilt range of +30° to -120° and continuous rotation C of 360°. Linear traverses go from 510 × 420 × 395 mm (VUX-300) a 750 × 650 × 600 mm (VUX-500), with table diameters of Ø 210 a Ø 410 mm.

The structure is manufactured in Meehanite casting and analyzed with software FEM (ANSYS/NASTRAN) to optimize static and dynamic stiffness. The column incorporates an A-profile base and a single-piece spindle head, with a rigidity improvement of a 5% with respect to conventional designs. The three linear axes mount high-precision roller guides, and the Z axis operates without counterweight. The models VUX-300 and VUX-400 they admit transport in standard container without disassembling the tool storage.

Direct drive spindle DDS operates at 12.000 rpm in all models, with cone 7/24 No. 40 and power of 7.5/11 kW (continues/30 min). The automatic tool changer (ATC) it is of type arm, with 20 or 24 tools according to the model, and the rapid traverse speed on the X and Y axes reaches 36 m/min.

The VUX series is aimed at workshops and manufacturers of components for the sectors of automotive, aerospace, precision molds and Energy that require incorporating four- or five-axis machining to address complex geometries and surfaces with multiple access using a single fixturing, in a compact implant machine format.
