Vertical machining center with FEELER VBX Series prismatic guides

The VBX series of FEELER is a range of vertical box-guide machining centers (box way) composed of six models —VBX-1100, VBX-1300, VBX-1400, VBX-1650, VBX-1900 and VBX-2200— designed for heavy-duty high-r rigidity machining. The X axis covers from 1.100 mm until 2.200 mm of travel, with work tables of 1,300 × 600 mm a 2,400 × 960 mm and load capacities of 1.300 kg a 2.700 kg.

The structure is manufactured in Meehanite casting and analyzed by finite elements (FEM) to optimize static and dynamic rigidity. The widened-box guides have the sliding surface coated with TURCITE-B, which guarantees wear resistance and long-term precision. The column incorporates a reinforced A-profile base; the frame integrates four box guides in models VBX-1100 to VBX-1900 and six box guides in the VBX-2200 for greater support under extreme loads. The ball screws in X, Y and Z operate with preload to minimize positioning error.

The series offers three spindle transmission configurations: belt (standard), gearbox with two speeds —high torque for heavy cutting and high speed for fine finishing— and spindle of direct drive DDS. The available cones are No. 40 and No. 50Optionally, the system of thermal compensation FEELER controls machining deviation below 0,02 mm through sensors distributed in the structure. The ATC of the arm type has 24 either 32 tools with changeover time from 1.7 seconds.

The VBX series is aimed at heavy machining workshops and manufacturers in the sectors of molds and dies, heavy machinery, aerospace and automotive that require high material handling startup capacity in large-format parts with sustained dimensional accuracy.
