CNC horizontal milling drilling machine FEELER SHB series

The SHB series of FEELER is a range of CNC horizontal milling boring machines mobile-column composed of two subfamilies according to spindle diameter —SHB-110XX (Ø 110 mm) and SHB-130XX (Ø 130 mm)— in short-table configurations (RS), medium (RM) and long (RL, exclusive to SHB-130), with X-axis travels of 2,500 to 4,000 mm. The workbenches go 1,600 × 1,400 mm a 3.200 × 1.800 mm with load capacities of up to 20 tons.

The structure is manufactured entirely in cast iron and calculated by finite element analysis (FEM), applied both to the structural assembly as well as to the ram system. The Z axis incorporates heavy linear guides of brand Schneeberger (Switzerland) in O-type configuration, with four blocks of 251 × 126 mm per line capable of absorbing forces from any direction. The X axis adopts double prism guides in the RS variants or three-way linear guides in the RM and RL variants, depending on the required load capacity. The X, Y and Z axes incorporate linear optical scales as standard equipment for position feedback.

The spindle (W axis) undergoes nitriding and mirror-polish treatment; the bearing system is lubricated and cooled by air-oil to minimize thermal expansion. The spindle speeds reach 3.200 rpm (SHB-110) and 2.700 rpm (SHB-130) with active W shaft, and up to 6.000 rpm rotating shaft power W. The continuous power is 22/26 kW with option of 30/37 kW. The travel of the W axis goes from 500 to 900 mm according to variant. The ATC fixed supports 40 tools BT-50 —option of 60— with maximum length of 400 mm and maximum weight of 35 kg. The CNC control is configurable in FANUC, Mitsubishi, Siemens either Heidenhain.

The SHB series is aimed at manufacturers of large-format components for the sectors of Energy, heavy machinery, aerospace and naval that require high-precision drilling, milling and threading on complex geometry parts with a single clamping.
