FEELER Vertical Lathe Series FVT

The FVT series by FEELER is a range of heavy-duty CNC vertical lathes designed for the machining of large-diameter, high-weight workpieces. The lineup spans from the FVT-450, with a maximum turning diameter of Ø460 mm, to the FVT-1600, capable of turning parts up to Ø2,000 mm with a maximum table load of 8,000 kg, covering the full range of large-component machining requirements in the energy, railway, and automotive sectors.

The series is structured into two groups based on guideway type. Smaller-capacity models feature high-rigidity, high-load linear guideways for operations that demand both cutting speed and dimensional accuracy. Larger-capacity models use Turcite-B-coated box ways, purpose-built for heavy roughing cuts; these machines incorporate a Z-axis counterbalance weight on the column to reduce servo motor loading and eliminate structural vibration during machining.

The vertical spindle carries an A2-8 nose on the entry models and up to A2-15 on the FVT-1000. Spindle speed reaches 2,500 rpm on the FVT-450, scaling down to a range of 2–250 rpm on the FVT-1600 for the machining of large-mass workpieces. Spindle motor power ranges from 18.5/22 kW to 37/45 kW (continuous/30 min), with X and Z rapid traverse rates of up to 24 m/min.

The standard hydraulic turret accommodates 8 or 12 tool stations. MC variants feature a BMT 65 live tooling turret with spindle speeds up to 4,000 rpm for milling and eccentric drilling. The largest-capacity model replaces the turret with a 12-station carousel ATC using BT50 toolholders. All models run Fanuc 0i-TD CNC.

The FVT series targets manufacturers of large components for the energy sector (motors, pumps), railway industry (wheels and frames), and heavy automotive applications, where workpiece diameter or weight places the job beyond the capacity of conventional horizontal lathes.
